Jackson, a college sophomore, is somewhat distant with his dad, Homer, because he’s always busy with work and doesn’t have time for him. Homer also has a young girlfriend named Bethany who is not only less than a decade older than him, but who lives in their house and is soon to be married to his dad. He and his future stepmom are awkward and don’t talk to each other much.
